During the celebration of the publishing of “The Geraldo Show: A Memoir” by Geraldo Rivera, which took place at Del Frisco’s on April 2, 2018, in New York City, Geraldo Rivera was present for some of the events that took place. “The Five,” the program on which Geraldo Rivera, a former host for Fox News, appeared and clashed with Greg Gutfeld and Jesse Watters, was recently terminated from his place of employment. After that, he made the decision to terminate his employment with Fox News entirely, stating that he had reached the end of his relationship with the network and his differences with it.
In addition, his long-running conflict with Greg Gutfeld was a contributing factor in his decision to resign.Geraldo will be making a guest appearance on “The View” on ABC, now that he has left his position at Fox News. “Delighted to do TheView Thursday,” he tweeted, announcing his appearance on the show. Can’t help but wonder what they’ll ask me about.
In spite of the fact that the comment was made in jest, they will most likely inquire about his time spent at Fox News and the reasons he left the network. They will attempt to convince him to criticize the network for its defense of President Donald Trump at times and for not being sufficiently committed to “our democracy.” However, there are a number of other topics that they could ask him about in order to excite its audience that is aware of the world around them.
One of these is his advocacy of the affirmative action policy. During one of his final appearances on Fox News, Geraldo defended the policy that was based on race and labeled himself as a product of it. He said, “I was a product of affirmative action more than half a century ago… None of the local news teams in New York were comprised of black reporters, Hispanic reporters, or female reporters when the Ford Foundation and Columbia Journalism School collaborated to diversify the local news teams.
After that, he continued by saying that he was selected to be one of the diverse candidates because the lack of diversity was “shocking.” According to what he had to say: “And it was frightening. In addition, that occurred as late as 1968 or 1969. Consequently, I was chosen.
The Young Lords, a group of Puerto Rican activists, had taken over certain buildings in the Spanish Harlem neighborhood, and I was providing my services to the media as their representative. At the same time, I served as their attorney and their negotiator. And as their spokeswoman, I was responsible for a lot of news coverage. The rest, as they say, is history. I was discovered in this manner, and because of that, I was drafted into the Columbia program.
In addition to the controversy surrounding affirmative action and his departure from Fox News, “The View” might inquire about his adversary with Greg Gutfeld, one of the few hosts that is still on the show and who attracts a significant number of people. He did told the Associated Press, “There has been a growing tension that goes beyond editorial differences and personal annoyances and gripes.” This is despite the fact that Geraldo has declined to speak on his own battles with Geraldo in the past. I do not believe that it is worth it.
Once he has left Fox News and is no longer required to debate with Gutfeld and Watters on a daily basis, it is possible that he will provide additional information regarding the factors that contributed to the contentious nature of his disagreements with Gutfeld.
It is possible, however, that he does not. In his final statement before departing Fox News, he stated, “I love Fox and the people at Fox.” In any case, I will. I promise that I will never allow anyone to put us apart. Not only am I really thankful, but I also love you for it. Therefore, it is possible that he does not bear any ill will toward you and would like to go in peace rather than to stir up a difficult battle. Let time tell the tale.
