Country music singer Rory Feek has discovered love again after the untimely death of his wife Joey eight years ago. Rebecca, his daughter’s teacher for ten years, was the lady he married.
Rory recently shared the good news of his marriage to Rebecca, a dedicated teacher who has been teaching his daughter, Indiana Feek, for many years. This sweet union was made much more unforgettable by Indiana’s own urging.
In the touching blog post, Rory opened up about the beautiful journey that led him and Rebecca to this special event. He revealed that God had planted the idea to wed Rebecca in his heart through a straightforward song while he strummed his guitar.
Despite their growing closeness, Rory and Rebecca had been reluctant to discuss marriage, particularly given Indiana’s strong bond with her late mother. Everything changed one morning in late March. Rebecca arrived at the farmhouse as usual to drop Indy off at school, but something strange happened that day.
As usual, they exited the room after their morning prayers, but they were quickly back in the kitchen. Rebecca then told Rory that they received a message from Indiana. Feeling as innocent and knowledgeable as a child, she asked, “Ms. Rebecca, I think you should marry Papa.”
Rory was stunned, but also very moved. Indiana justified herself by saying, “My mother died a long time ago. If she marries you, she might also end up becoming my new mother. Overwhelming emotions: Rory recognized this as a red flag. After a thoughtful and in-depth conversation, the pair bravely decided to proceed.
In the quaint Montanan village of Greycliff, the wedding took place on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, July 14, beneath a magnificent timber-frame pavilion.
Despite the short notice, many of their friends and family were happy to attend because they were unaware of the wedding. Rory wrote this beautiful song as a gift for Rebecca; he had been working on it since April.
Looking back on the day, Rory Feek praised Rebecca for allowing him to experience love once more and for making her happy. The singer of country music expressed his gratitude for being able to spend time with his daughter, Indiana, and for meeting a new life partner.

“My wife’s greatest dream came true today,” Rory said, reflecting the melancholy solace he found in Joey’s demise. She’s currently in paradise. The pain has subsided, the malignancy has vanished, and her tears have dried up. “Joey is in her brother Justin’s arms, using her beautiful voice to sing for her savior,” the author wrote.
The singer revealed that her family surrounded Joey in prayer when she died away at 2:30 p.m. In her final moments, Rory held her hand and kissed her goodbye.
Even though Rory wept a lot, he also spoke of many happy tears and amazing moments that helped to lighten the difficult time. “You just want it to be over when a person has gone through as much pain and struggle as Joey has,” he remarked.
Joey’s funeral was an extremely touching event that happened amid a grove of sassafras trees behind their farmhouse. Friends and family gathered to say goodbye to the woman Rory referred to as “the greatest person I have ever known.”
The service started in their barn, which also served as a concert hall.
During the burial, the Isaacs sang “It Is Well With My Soul,” and Pastor Jerry Young, who had baptized Joey in her small Indiana church, shared heartfelt recollections of her.

At the time, Rory and Joey were still living in their quaint Pottsville farmhouse. He described the enormous homestead as a place where time often seemed to sit still and the memories of their shared existence to be kept.
He also brought up Joey’s younger sister Indiana, who passed away at the age of two. Rory noted that Indiana had shrunk to a “little person.” He claimed that seeing her develop served as a poignant reminder of the years that passed and demonstrated how time can have a profoundly powerful yet enigmatic effect.
Amidst this self-examination, Rory has found newfound happiness and hope. With his recent marriage to Rebecca, a schoolteacher who has greatly impacted both his and Indiana’s lives, a new chapter full of love and promise has begun.
